Drift Strategy

For my long walk in Milwaukee I tried to follow a basic pattern in my walking. First I walked up to a street that I realized would be safe to start at. Next, I used a simple zig zag pattern in which I would take a left go one block then I would take a right and go another block. I followed this pattern all the way up to the UWM campus then I walked the same path back except going on the opposites sides of the streets that I was on previsously.

Birds in the Winter?

I never thought that I would actually encounter any wild life while on my drift but this recording of some chirping birds in a tree totally caught me off guard. The tree that there where in was on East Webster Pl. I mean there is rarely a chance for someone to check birds out while there is still feezing winds and ice still caked across the sidewalks. The Angry Dog

This was probably the funnest sound for me to record and I found it on the corner of N Frederick Ave and E Webster Pl. All I did was stand in front of a window and this angry little dog did the rest. I stood there in the same spot watching him leap from one end of the couch to the other. It's no bad that my full recording wasn't exceptionally clear but this little snip bit was. Listen here

Bridge located near Wisconsin river on North Avenue

This next selected sound was probably the most intriguing sound to me. It's not the sound itself but the reactions that I got from people driving by me while I was recording on North Avenue(I wanna say about five or six people flicked me the bird within two minutes!" O well I still feel like I got a decent recording despite these jerks. Listen in here

School Playground noises

This next sound is of some school children playing at the play ground located next to an elementary school at the corner of E Greenwich Ave. and North Murray St. It caught my attention because you first here one of the older kids yell out to get the attention of his friends then as time passes near the end of the sound recording you can hear a perhaps a parent yell out for his son Phillip. School Children

This is the sound of a couple of kids just walking by in the frigid air. From where I was standing on E Newberry Blvd you can't make out what there saying but it was just probably some simple ten year-old's conversation with a friend. For what it sounds like click here
